We received it on April first, and by June 12th, it was no longer able to open cans. We thought this was a great product, for the two months that it actually worked.
Wifey likes this - she's got small hands and isn't the strongest person around. I'm a fan of Oxo products. And you don't have to worry about any sharp edges. She can use this with ease on canned goods. They're all well built and just work. The nice thing about this is you don't have to squeeze hard for it to work.
Often, after two or three times around the can, I still can't pry the lid off and have had to resort to throwing the can first at the kitchen wall (out of frustration) and then in the trash because there was no way of getting the food out of the can. I'm not an idiot.I know I'm using it properly, but I really don't think it is cutting all the way through the metal. And then I threw the can opener in the trash as well. I got this can opener when I got married about 2 years ago, thinking it would be a high-quality, long-lasting item. Actually, it works MAYBE half the time.
This is a great product. Much easier to get everything out of the can. I would recommend this product for anyone that uses a can opener. No more dirty gears, no more nicked knuckles.
The small vise on the side is a nice touch and works quite well. I can promise that you will never misplace. Easy to grip and use.I would recommend this to a friend. This can opener works as advertised and my order arrived in a timely fashion. The only down side it that the can opener is almost too large to fit in the utensil drawer.
